I have always been a meliorist

I came across the term meliorist/meliorism while perusing the New World Dictionary as a teen. Before the age of the internet this is what nerdy, curious kids did instead of playing sports or talking to girls. I was immediately struck by the idea that the world is improvable, but that there is no guarantee that the world will get better. 

As a teen and as a child I was well aware that not everything got better as time went on. The strange zeitgeist of post Vietnam America that combined pessimism with the ceaseless grinding misery of Progress. A zeitgeist that pushed official optimism for social engineering & increasing the strength of the US government while simultaneously promoting paranoid fantasies about the power of the military industrial complex. According to the current wisdom America need only strengthen the state to continue its mission of desegregating & deracinating the US to achieve harmony & justice. Meanwhile throughout my formative years (the 70's & 80's) the rate of violent crime sky rocketed, especially among blacks. The Cosby Show was on every Thursday night expressly stating that all was well with black America and the evening news was on every night showing exactly how wrong that sentiment was.

It seemed obvious to me that things were not getting better culturally, socially, intellectually, but were getting better in other ways. Technology improved, the economy seemed to improve, living standards were rising & the 1987 stock market crash did not dim our country's outlook. What I saw when I looked around was a world headed in no particular direction. Progress on one front offered no benefits on others & some progress seemed to be worse than what came before. On the whole I imagined that the actions that this country & its people took determined the direction we went. Stupid or malicious actions led to exacerbation of our country's problems while hard won wisdom could guide us away from destabilizing societal maelstroms. Meliorism therefore seemed as obvious as the old programming slogan, "Garbage in garbage out."

What is Meliorism?

Simply it is the belief that the world can be improved through human intervention. It is part of the intellectual framework of liberalism & progressivism, but it should not be rejected by reactionaries because of that. Obviously in the long run I believe the natural world wins out and that man is a part of that natural world and no amount of effort will disentangle us from the real world. Meliorism at least at its core is the belief that we can change what is alterable, but our faculty for change is limited by reality. Meliorism is therefore practical concerned as much with what can be changed as with attempting to change. 

All reactionaries are implicitly meliorists because despite the obvious headwinds we fly into we believe things as they are now are not as they should be. There are better ideas than blind adherence to the cult of Progress and a restoration of tradition will lead to better place. 

I have come to think about meliorism & its place in neoreactionary thought thanks to a wonderful essay on Leibniz by Marc E Bobro at the New Atlantis. I do not know if many in the neoreactionary movement have read his work, but he seems to have a philosophy that bears consideration. His views are definitely melioristic to quote from Mr. Bobro's article:

A forward-looking form of optimism (sometimes termed meliorism, or more rarely, agathism) is the optimism of the working scientist, who is confident that the unknown can be made known. Perhaps possessing this kind of confidence in progressive knowledge is an essential characteristic of the scientist, without which he has little drive or motivation. But this, of course, does not mean that such progress is always linear. The great nineteenth-century German physicist Hermann von Helmholtzcompared himself to a mountain climber who, “not knowing the way, ascends slowly and toilsomely and is often compelled to retrace his steps because his progress is blocked; who, sometimes by reasoning and sometimes by accident, hits upon signs of a fresh path, which leads him a little farther.” Leibniz used a similar analogy, writing that “we sometimes retrace our footsteps in order to leap forward with greater vigor.” He was drawn to the image of the spiral; it represented for him non-linear, yet non-circular progress. A spiral and the words inclinata resurget (what declines will rise again) were inscribed on Leibniz’s coffin.

This is the sort of thinking that created the neoreactionary critique and certainly comports with my way of looking at life. The neoreactionary is climbing down the mountain to avoid catastrophe in the hopes of actually enduring the journey upwards while the progressives seem to think the shifting ice beneath their feet is going to carry them to the summit.

Decriminalizing Rape

So at Brett Stevens's Amerika blog he says legalize rape. Read the whole thing, because he makes a very insightful point. The criminalization of rape was based on a different (i.e. traditional) understanding of the role of women & sex. Once upon a time a woman's virginity was her honor and to be bereft of that made her nearly untouchable. To disuade men from forcible defloration in an era when easy virtue (among the elite & middle classes) kept women from marriage.

Now since we no longer hold such rational Puritanical opinions the laws are a sad monument to a long lost era of sexual probity. As we say a farewell to old institutions so too should we say adieu to this archaic tradition.

I am persuaded, but I don't think feminists will be.

Gregory Hood wrote an article that hits home in a way that I’ve tried to express on my blog. He strikes the perfect tone in this article the way I feel & the way I think writing:

            This takes the form of a curious doublethink. If a right-minded friend wears an upside down American flag or even burns the federal banner, I’ll approve it as a form of outraged protest and response to betrayal. If I see pro-immigration protesters burning the flag and cursing out the United States, I’m probably getting in a fight and going to try to save that bit of cloth. I fully recognize the absurdity of this. It changes nothing.

            This is my dilemma as well. The very real feeling of pride in my fellow countrymen, for the men who even now die in foreign lands at the behest of a Ruling Class that despises them & oppresses them cannot be dismissed. I must face facts that this country has betrayed these people in the name of lunatic utopian ideology. Citizen or foreigner Who cares? This government owes nothing to the people who built this country. If the people of this land will not do as they are told then the Ruling Class will elect a new one. As Gregory Hood further points out:

            If European-Americans can’t break away from this totemic fixation on the United States, they will not long survive. White Survival on this continent depends upon the historic American nation recognizing that it is a European population and but a branch of a greater Western family. The pathetic fear of American conservatives that “we will end up like a European nation” and must remain a New Jerusalem is what has led us to this point.

I do not see my fellow Americans waking up. They are in denial, especially the conservatives, about the nature of Latin American colonization. The future of the American government is not in doubt. It is the future of the American nation that is.

Anarcho-tyranny

Anarcho-tyranny is the state being used to undermine the historical American nation by lawlessly allowing colonization of the US by a foreign people. It is rule by people who hate white America. Anarcho-tyranny trades order & tradition for an unending auto-da-fe of those who violate orthodoxy. Anarcho-tyranny tells you what you can eat, how you can dress, and anathematizes any dissent. Anarcho-tyranny joins the surveillance state to social atomization. The fires of the endless auto-da-fe that is liberalism were lit 326 years ago these fires will never be sated they will burn everything to ash in the name of Progress.

Look how narrow debate has become. Take the year 1914 as an example do you think that your average resident of the western world could espouse a greater variety of opinions then or 100 years later. In 1914 even in authoritarian monarchies like the German Empire or Austro-Hungary political views were wide open. Hell the Austrian school view was founded in this era & people were openly Bolshevik, Social revolutionaries, Nationalists, Socialists, Social Darwinists, Royalists, Monarchists, Liberals, Anarchists, etc.

The range of acceptable views has shrunk dramatically especially in the US. The US is arguably the worst place to advocate any thing to the right of what was up until 2 decades ago left-wing extremism. Gay marriage was a punchline even Obama was against it in 2008. Transgendered was not even a word 5 years ago (outside of gender study courses). Until 1984 Homosexuality was considered a mental illness in this country. Now we have other-kin & gender queer. While sexual dimorphism, despite being indisputable fact, is oppression. Human bio-diversity despite its scientific underpinnings is silenced. If all you want is keep people with Ebola out of your country you are somehow evil. A third of immigrants who came to the US in the 19th & early 20th century were sent back for among other things having infectious diseases. No amount of Tax cutting, deregulating or any other policy prescriptions advocated by libertarians are going to stem the tide. Any more than neocon foreign policy is. More importantly libertarians cannot argue effectively with Progressives because libertarianism is progressive too.

Have we reached "Peak Liberal Democracy"

Looking at the world through the lens of reaction I see a world falling apart at the seams. This falling apart is slow it began almost as soon as Liberal Democracy stood exultant in August of 1945. The threat of the Soviet Empire gave the West its last sense of purpose. It also reined in the worst excesses of Liberal Utopianism or what is referred to as neoconservatism or neoliberalism. I am using Liberal Utopianism as a synonym for neoliberalism/neoconservatism in foreign affairs. This excess in Liberal Utopianism (LU from here on) had to be secondary to achieving foreign policy gains against the Soviets. The nature of the crisis, I might add, also forced the Soviets to give assistance to ideologically unreliable (from the Marxist-Leninist POV) regimes as well.

While American foreign policy paid lip service to LU goals it was often necessary to make common case with authoritarian dictators, monarchies & outright despots. America's soft idealism meant that rational foreign policy had to be cloaked in the language of LU. The litany of preserving freedom, of making the world safe for democracy, of national self-determination was used as a screen or even a flimsy pretext for America's ambition  to hold the Soviet Union in check. These same mantras were peddled by FDR during WW II despite the whole time supporting the Soviets in their murderous goals. In both WW II & the Cold War the US had definite objectives the defeat of Nazi Germany & Japan & the containment of the Soviet Union respectively.

The Berlin Wall fell unexpectedly in 1989 & the Soviet Union dissolved just after Christmas 1991. This led to the US being unrestrained on the world stage & paradoxically turning inward away from the world concentrating on domestic politics with foreign affairs as a sideshow used to distract from Clinton's peccadilloes. The only people still interested in foreign affairs were the true believers the so-called neocons. By the year 2000 as America turned inward Russia ended a slow march from liberalism back to authoritarianism. China continued its move from revolutionary communism to plain old authoritarian mercantilism. However it seemed liberal democracy was still on the march spreading inevitably to the whole world. The future looked like it would be a world of McDonald's & McMansions.

After all why not? One could be assured that in a few years Saudi Arabia would host its first church and Iran would shake off the ecclesiarchy & the Russians would pass through a little authoritarian turbulence before steadying the plane flying on to the uplands of liberal democracy. China would eventually follow Japan, Taiwan & South Korea from economic to political liberalism after all it was the wave of the future. It was wasn't it?

Its obvious we are all one big happy human family & there were no differences a little good old fashioned liberal education couldn't solve. We are all humans & only neanderthal bigots and skinhead Nazis believed that races existed beyond a few obvious cosmetic differences. When September 11th happened it was also obvious what to do we would invade the middle east & jump start their inevitable evolution into liberal democracy just like we did with Germany, Japan & Italy. There were no real differences between the populations that a little hard work and proper education wouldn't solve. America would enter as liberators kill off the region's villainous leadership & let the good people of the middle east  elect a new vigorous & more genteel political class of web surfing shop owners & small business men. Thus LU would be the culmination of hundreds of years of Progress as the middle east would become respectable, middle class & peaceful soon followed by the rest of the world.

Go back & read the old posts by instapundit, LGF, & Andrew Sullivan (if the latter two haven't tried to extirpate their old posts in shame). Look at what David Frum, Richard Perle or Thomas P M Barnett wrote. It was just a matter of defeating the bad guys, building infrastructure & integrating these lost lambs back into the international fold. Keep buying junk or the terrorists win. If we give in to xenophobia & stop welcoming endless streams of unchecked immigrants then the terrorist have won. We can't turn away from the world, we must look out to the world & we must keep the world order going. I bought into it. I thought things should be done differently in some cases, but these were quibbles. I wanted an end to immigration, but not free trade. After the stunning success of the invasions of Afghanistan & Iraq my doubts were erased. I supported the neocons I abandoned my skepticism of racial equality and sought comfort in a war well fought. I supported the mission because the only alternative was that these men were wasting their lives on a fool's errand & I wanted the Muslims to pay. I was done mourning the twin towers on September 12th and expected blood & fire. This time even the Lefties could see we were in the right this wasn't Vietnam, 3000 Americans had died on a clear blue day in New York. It didn't seem possible my country would let let them get away with it. I found out it wasn't my country anymore. It may never have been my country at all.

But they got away with it the Taliban will rule Afghanistan again soon & even if ISIS doesn't conquer Iraq & Syria the people who will rule Iraq & Syria will be the same corrupt despot as before or some new fanatical group. Meanwhile the entire global order is on the verge of disintegration. Japan is slipping back into recession, Russia is desperate for higher oil prices & the US has yet to achieve a recovery from the 2008 financial collapse. Mexico & most of Latin America has begun to slip from being mere basket cases into failed states. LU has failed. Most of Asia, Africa, Latin America, & eastern Europe will remain in the hands of or fall into the hands of Authoritarian or Totalitarian ruling Cliques. I now see all of this as if not good than necessary our degenerate culture can't change without pain. If our thede can be awakened from its progressive somnambulism & regain its lost will to survive then the future will be worth all this pain. If our thede doesn't reawaken then we will follow the Algonquins & the Helveti into dust.

Liberal Democracy proved to be just as ephemeral as Athenian Democracy. Democracy is not the future it is an idea that died long ago & should have remained in the grave.

Tribe Blue vs. Tribe Red

A friend on of mine on facebook trots out the favorite phrase of libertarians & libertarian conservatives that phrase is: "the law of unintended consequences." I responded rather pointedly that in this instance the phrase was not correct.

What was the conversation about? Immigration, or as most right thinking conservatives put it; illegal immigration & the minimum wage.

This is how my friend started:

2 big things being pushed right now are amnesty for illegals and raising the minimum wage. What happens when these things collide? If amnesty gets passed, there will be around 7 million new people added to the workforce. If the minimum wage gets passed, it will cost at least $10.10/hr (more in some cities) to hire new employees. Considering that many illegal immigrants lack higher job skills, a decent education, and functional English... what is the likelihood that employers will hire them over workers with skills and education - especially when the cost of hiring goes up?

End result: many of these newly-legal workers will remain unemployed and have to rely on government assistance. When you expand the supply of unskilled/low-skilled labor AND raise the price of labor, you effectively make it too expensive for employers to hire those at the bottom of the labor pool. This is what happens when politicians (both D and R) don't understand basic economic concepts.

(Please save your accusations of racism/bigotry. I'm not bashing illegal immigrants, just looking at the facts and seeing where they will lead.)

My friend is lost in the mire of progressive politics more fearful of being called racist than being honest with himself. What he says is perfectly true if one increases the cost of labor one decreases employment. He is also right about the illegals being unskilled one type of worker of which this country has far too many. This will inevitably lead to increased welfare rolls. My problem is two fold with what my friend says. First it is not in any way an unintended consequence. second one cannot argue against left/liberal/progressive ideas & expect to win against the them, because they are not moved by ideas, but by something more primal. They are moved by loyalty to their thede & animosity to the opposing thede.

Until one understands the true motives of the Blue Tribe & the Red Tribe one cannot make sense of the state of American culture & its tributary American Politics.

Mr. Krauthammer's quote gets to the heart of the inability of Red Tribe members to understand what is actually going on & why persisting in arguing with Blue Tribe members gets you nowhere. The Blue Tribe is a thede it is a nation unto itself its actions make perfectly logical sense once you understand this. Their ideological stands are there to differentiate themselves from the rapacious Red Tribe scum. Their objective is the defeat of the Red Tribe at any cost. The Red Tribe is their mortal enemy & through both politics & culture they ceaselessly war against their thede's chief enemy. Blue Tribe sees no reason for restraint and they will accept any ally in their war against Red Tribe. Why? because evil cannot be allowed to be victorious. 

From the perspective of Mr. Krauthammer one can see the problem he thinks Red Tribe does not believe Blue Tribe to be evil. This I can only surmise is Mr. Krauthammer's  own experience as a former speechwriter for Walter Mondale & as a current talking head on Fox News he has seen "both" sides from within. However this is an illusion he is still a member of Blue Tribe, they are still his thede & he has little if any connection to Red Tribe. He still holds to the true religion of Blue Tribe: Progressivism. The arguments between Blue & Red have been hijacked by an argument between Low Church Blues & High Church Blues. Being a member of Blue Tribe is no hindrance to ascending to the leadership of Red Tribe, in fact as in all things in American culture being a member of Blue Tribe is absolutely a boon.

Who are these tribes? Where do they come from? Perhaps a map might be informative, a map of American nations click on the link to see it. This country was formed by a series of nations it is the reason the founders decentralized the power granting the primary power to the states. However this was doomed to be short lived. 

The above map reveals that there are 11 seperate nations making up North America despite the map's implications it is obvious that all 11 nations are present in the United States (First Nation being Amerindians), but these 11 nations have joined into two main coalitions the Red coalition: Deep South, Greater Appalachia & the Far West vs. the Blue coalition: all the others plus blacks led by Yankeedom's Brahmans. These two ethnic/regional coalitions have taken control of the two main parties Republicans are Red Tribe & Democrats are Blue Tribe. Yet that's not quite right Red Tribe is the rank & file, but the Red Party & Red Tribe Punditry is dominated by Midlanders & a group of dissident Yankees. 

Look at the people considered the voices and opinion leaders of the conservative movement. They are, like Mr. Krauthammer almost all members of the Blue Tribe. How many major talking heads come from the Red thede? One has great difficulty trying to name a single member of the Punditry that is a Scotch-Irish or Southerner. Limbaugh is a Midlander. Beck is from a left coast Democrat (as he will tell you) family. Mark Levin is an east coast Jew who joined & co-opted (or were co-opted by) the Brahmans in the middle of the last century. Sean Hannity is the closest to being a true Red Tribe member due to his white working class upbringing, but he's a northeast Irish Catholic not a member of the Red thede. The list goes on Ingraham, Krauthammer, Linda Chavez, Goldberg, Rich Lowry, Brit Hume, et. al. The leaders of the GOP such as Bush, Boehner & Ryan are either members of other theden like Midlanders or like Ted Cruz the graduates of Blue Tribal indoctrination centers like Harvard or Yale.

They all want to be liked or at least respected by their Blue Tribal institutions (i.e.major media, academia, arts & entertainment). This is why they constantly draw lines in the sand & say "this far & no farther" until the line is crossed then they draw a new line that they abandon when the Blue Tribe walks across it. The Blue Tribe does not care what the forces of evil think. Blue Tribe holds all of Red Tribe in contempt. They also force the rest of the Red Tribe to respect & defend today the very ideas that Red Tribe was at war with yesterday. Red Punditry especially lies to itself. They deny the actual interests of the Red Tribe while purging from their ranks anyone who dares deviate from established dogma. Taki, Joe Sobran, John Derbyshire, Mark Steyn, Steve Sailor all defenestrated by polite punditry. All purged for holding opinions that were mainstream just a decade or two earlier some for holding opinions that were mainstream just a year or two earlier. 

Notice that the reverse never happens. Embracing genocidal ideologies or genocidal figures will not get pundits on the left kicked out of punditry. They do police their own for violations of orthodoxy, but they only expel for Right deviation. That is how the Right obtains its pundit class. They receive their cast offs and to make room for them the Red Tribe anathematizes those who cannot get with the new Orthodoxy.

Look at this article at iSteve showing where the political money goes from each industry. To quote Steve Sailor:

So, the four businesses that serve as the Engineers of Human Souls — entertainment, academia, Google-type tech, and the print media — are each significantly more liberal than any industries are conservative, even mining and agriculture (and the gypsum and sorghum industries aren’t exactly leaders of fashion).

They give ground because they do not want to be hated. Yet they are hated with an unconquerable vehemence that will not go away unless they pull a David Brock and embrace Blue Tribe hatred and lead little auto-da-fe's against the Red Menace. They do not want common ground between the two tribes they want distance. They need to feel the frisson of being the moral & intellectual superiors to the Red Tribe. If the Red Tribe embraces something it will be abandoned by the Blue Tribe. The Blue Tribe calls for ethnic & racial  diversity the Red Tribe embraces blacks, hispanics, & women who are then savaged and rejected by the Blue Tribe as inauthentic. Red Tribe is evil therefore all evil is Red Tribe.

 How does one know if a thing is evil? The answer is easy.

 Is this thing embraced by Red Tribe? If the answer is yes then it is evil.

How does one know if an idea is embraced by the Red Tribe? The answer is easy.

Is the idea evil? If the answer is yes then it must be an idea the Red Tribe embraces even if it is embraced in secret.

It is about time to end our ethnomasochism. Embracing figures brought up outside of the Red thede will not make us any more palatable to the Blue Tribe. We must separate from each other. The Blue tribe is implacable they must always increase the distance from the Red Tribe. Their repulsion is genuine it is genetic.

Book Burners angry at scientist

The waffen SJW's mange to create outrage constantly , because they have no end game. They require outrage therefore they cannot leave well enough alone. For these book burners there is no well enough. Even a scientific mission to land a probe on a comet is merely a new opportunity to preen for each other. Some morons decided to shit  themselves because a man who actually does useful things wore clothing they don't like. Nothing could more clearly reveal that the book burners are incapable of serious thought. Their ideology requires the absence of self knowledge or else they could not continue their constant agitation for pointless division. 

This incident shows us that women in general have no place in STEM if they cannot take seeing a shirt with pretty girls on it. One can only draw a single conclusion from SJW agitation that scientific, economic, & technological progress are impossible utterly at odds with social/political progress. The book burners may at last break the insane hold of Progressivism on the actual instruments of progress. The instruments of progress being the minds of creative & skilled men. Social progress can now be shown not merely to be unconnected to technological innovation, but absolutely anathema to it.

What the European Space Agency achieved owes nothing to Progressivism instead it stands as a refutation of all that the book burners hold dear. The perennial worries of the agitator class are of no consequence they are puerile faddish inanities. They are the concerns of the perpetually willfully ignorant. To stand up to the book burners is to stand with science. The book burners cast their uncomprehending gaze upon the works of Men and rage. They are apes.    

A prediction for 2016

I want to be on record as predicting two things.

1. The Republicans will screw up and ultimately be ineffective at blocking Progressivism. They will have no legislative victories of any value.

2. The 2016 presidential election will bring out more minorities and single women leading to a much tighter election that the Democrats will likely win.

The Democrats continue to import more & more voters from Latin America, but they are not very reliable & must be motivated to vote so Republicans will continue to hold some ground due to the fact that only whites turn out in mid-terms. Counting on depressed turnout for minorities is not a strategy for victory in electoral politics.

Ultimately the conservatives have failed at altering the demographics in their favor. The Conservative Movement has nothing to alter the culture for the better. Conservatism has conserved nothing they give ground to the enemy then defend that lost ground for the Progressives while the Progressives mount new assaults on tradition.

My mind is truly blown

Over at Social Matter one Bjorn Vosskriger turns gentrification into a weapon of Reaction and therefore civilization:

The descent of Ferguson into chaos, the bankruptcy of Detroit, and the arrest of yet another black mayor on corruption charges might lead one to question whether or not civilization in America can be salvaged. One commenter threw out “Rebel’s Guide to the Collapse of an American City,” which, if taken at face value would suggest that all American cities are doomed to become mega-Camdens, or worse American Port-Au-Princes. The commenters on the article largely agreed, lamenting that their city centers were stolen by mobs of rampaging blacks. From where I sit, however, the forces of civilization are fighting back in cities and neighborhoods across the country, and winning. Take one specific neighborhood, Harlem’s 28th Precinct. Just 23 years ago, the epicenter of black culture in New York City had 41 murders, 71 rapes, and 1050 robberies. The same neighborhood last year experienced 2 murders, 12 rapes, and 211 robberies, a staggering decrease in crime. Like Harlem, neighborhoods that just ten years ago were considered “no-go zones” are now attracting white settlers by the tens of thousands. America’s murder rate, once the highest in the developed world has fallen to a fifty year low.
The essay that follows is a very brief history of the conquest of many American cities by a predominantly black underclass, the nascent Reconquista, and an examination of the strategies and tactics in use.

The rest of the essay is truly mind blowing in its audacity, turning policies of the Cathedral into weapons against the rising tide of Anarcho-tyranny. Read the whole thing I have to think about it before I make a fool of myself in praising the essay & author. If he's right he may have just given the neoreactionaries a path to victory.

Time to split up

This article by Mr. Derbyshire weighs heavy on me, because ultimately it's true. The Yankees want no part of the rest of the whites. Yankeedom is their tribe & the other American nations; Appalachians, Southerners, even their old allies the Midlanders, are the enemy & they are willing to ally with any other group to keep these nations from wresting control from them. More & more the Republican Party is becoming the white party, but the Yankees are having none of it. Immigrants can see that the United States are united by the rule of the Yankee brahmins who hold all the cultural high ground & they act accordingly.

What can the other nations do about the strangle hold of Yankees on the country. Ultimately separation is the only course. The only way to return control of our own destinies to the other historical nations is through pulling out of the Union. No nation can tolerate being a conquered people especially when the conqueror feels nothing, but contempt for them. In 1865 the Yankees used Midlander foot soldiers to put down a rebellion against brahmin rule. Now the Yankees don't need the Midlanders & they've been replaced by non-whites.

However there was another time when the Republic could have been saved from the Yankee scourge.

The Hartford Convention was our chance to be rid of them. Instead it was merely the end of the Federalist Party in America. Ultimately the brahmins only respect each other the Union is doomed because they will use any means to stay in control. Ending the Union & devolving power back to the states will happen eventually. Americans of the other nations must work towards this before it is forced upon us by catastrophe.

A little trolling does the heart good

I went to a gaming website given wholly over to the waffen SJW's & made a little comment about the whining reminding me of Red State after the 2006 elections. The thread at that site had been bitching about the Republicans impeaching Obama, much as many on the right worried about the Democrats turning the last two years of the Bush presidency into a series of Congressional witch hunts. This bitterness was interspersed with fantasies of Joe Biden ascending to the presidency as an avenging demon. The blowhards even imagined him as a sort of waffen SJW supervillain.

They have become so unhinged by their grief that they mistook the countries biggest fool for a man. They honestly do not see him. So I casually pointed out their delusion and reassured them that the Adelsons & Koch brothers  will make sure that the GOP will not rock the boat and in two years they will likely get back the Soros/Gates/Zuckerberg ruling clique. They were not amused.

The hypersensitive moderators banned me from further discussion, but further revenge fantasy stopped and conversation slipped back into the perennial hobgoblin of little mind: process. I hope I dimmed someones dreams of democracy and made him rethink his position. Maybe one of the lurkers on the thread will reach out to the internet & find The Radish or Henry Dampier & their journey to the Dark Side will begin.

The Weeping & Gnashing of Teeth

Well even as the #gamergate struggle enters its 3rd month the forces of progress were dealt an embarrassing defeat yesterday by the ghost of Progressivism's past which of course means if you are a conservative that the Republic is saved & if you are a Democrat that the country has fallen into the hands of the Crypto-nazis. The look on Chris Matthews face during last night's ordeal was enough to cause a song of joy to fill the heart every reactionary.

How long will it take for the GOP to betray its white voters? I'm guessing they will give them a few days of jubilation before it sinks in that the GOP is dominated by emasculated beta males who fear being seen as extremist. They owe the Koch brothers & Sheldon Adelson & these billionaires are going to collect their due. We also have the Common Core debate that so many conservatives are invested in when the time comes Bill Gates will get it through.

As a reactionary I still feel a little satisfaction at witnessing the lamentations of the Cathedral's Praetorian Guard as they are haunted by self doubt. However I know that nothing has been gained the forces of Anarcho-tyranny have overtaken the Federalist Society, National Review, the Heritage Foundation, the Cato Institute and are in the process of continuing their Gramascian march. I fear only collapse will drag this country out of their grip. However there is no guarantee that this will happen for many more decades.

I'm going to go read comments written by leftist today & enjoy their fear & pain for today at least let them feel all that they stand for slip through their fingers & turn to dust. Let them taste ashes & dust. Let them know what it tastes like to be me.

A New Metaphor for #gamergate

Is the #gamergate struggle a Stalingrad for the waffen SJW's or is it the beginnings of a new Albigensian Crusade. Players in this little drama are even the same. One player a power hungry priesthood serving the Cathedral bent on a war of annihilation. The other powerless & poor seeking reform taking seriously the hypocrisy of the ruling clique's priests. Pointing out the failings of the priesthood that claims to serve a higher purpose is a sure way to get that priesthood in a killing mood.

Like many metaphors this one is funny in its comparisons Zoe Quinn equals Pierre de Castelnau and  that makes Soros & Zuckerburg Pope Innocent III & Phillip II Augustus. Adam Baldwin could be our Raymond VI Count of Toulouse refusing to aid in the annihilation of people he considers his own.

Just as in the Albigensian Crusade things are starting out well for the forces of reform the Cathedral is in retreat, but they will turn on all the people of the Languedoc and the bodies will be unnumbered. I guess which ever metaphor I use will tell whether I feel optimistic about the fate of #gamergate or not.

Women give men permission to think for ourselves.

Not actually a criticism of Karen Straughan she's sensible and she is not the problem, but she is not the solution either. The fact that there are rational women who see feminism for what it is is not shocking, but the fact that the most vocal & visible MRA's are women is the greatest problem. Men should be speaking out for themselves not relying on Helen Smith and other women to hopefully blunt criticisms against them from indoctrinated women & their beta male white knights.

Roosh discussed this here I am not an MRA in that I don't believe in equality at all. Everything Karen Straughan says is true, but a Men's movement must be fronted by men and I think its focus on equality makes it impossible for them to  be exclusionary something Game/PUA's and the Dark Enlightenment in general has no problem with. No movement that is so at its core egalitarian will ever be able to resist the creeping insidious infiltration of Progressivism.

Propaganda works because people use theory to explain the world.

Razib Khan wrote a fascinating post about the very high rate of educational & financial success called Asians are a model minority on average. The article informs us of a very well educated & successful Asian American woman's attempt to dispel this "myth" by undermining her own argument. This is classic propagandist behavior, because the propaganda is aimed at signaling inclusion in a select group more than at convincing outsiders of the correctness of the writer's cause. This use of propaganda is about settling the nerves of the true believer not conversion of others.

Near the end he makes a straight forward observation:

This tells us that the propaganda is working, though that’s not a surprise as most people are stupid and uninformed, and use theory to explain the world.

 Mr. Khan is completely correct and for the life of me I can't see how it could be otherwise. How can humans become more informed than they are now. The internet provides so much information, yet people still know next to nothing. It seems to me that one could say the same about all humans even those with very high IQ's who specialize in certain fields rarely make a statement without numerous qualifiers. It seems people use theory to explain life because being informed about everything is impossible.

I find myself feeling quite humble the Dunning Kruger effect is always on my mind.

#gamergate fighting against the Waffen SJW's or I wish Christians loved their faith enough to defend it as much as gamers defend games

I am a self described Gamer mostly P&P RPG's, CRPG's, RTS's & boardgames, but I admit I should do less gaming & more of, well, anything constructive. However the Waffen SJW's can leave nothing alone (today Gawker tomorrow the world) and I believe Atheism+ (see here) was their Advance on Moscow. I'm hoping gamergate will be their Stalingrad. I hate twitter, but I hate the Waffen SJW's more and they have my support, but I'm more interested in the visible shock this hash-tag movement created here on the Right. The sheer bloody minded defense of their cherished hobby I think makes the Right envious & a little ashamed.

Imagine if the Churchians had defended marriage with half this much vigor or if conservatives had defended (actually I can't think of anything conservatives have defended) the Historic American Nation with half as much tenacity our country wouldn't be in the midst of its long slow decline. Maybe after my fellow Omegas, neckbeards, dweebs, & dudebros show that the Waffen SJW's are a hollow legion then Conservatism inc. will climb out of their foxholes and actually do some fighting.Then again who wants Rich Lowry to have their back at least a braindead dudebro knows enough not to shoot his own teammates in the back just because they're scared.

A friend on FB made a cogent argument about freedom that I find wrong:

"Okay, I'll bite. The problem I have with authoritanism is the same problem I have with progressivism, conservatism, democracy, etc. They all presuppose that one person can better decide for another person what is best for them. In some cases, as with a parent and a child, this might work. But, in the grand scheme of life, no one is more qualified than the individual to determine what is best for themselves. Any proponent of any form of authoritarianism can cite the benefits of what they're proposing, but in every case there will be some who suffer."

 I disagree thus:

How high must a person's IQ be to actually know what is best for himself? Serious question do you know the answer? Let's say the median IQ for a nation is 85 what percentage of those people are ready for self rule? How many can meet the daily struggle of the modern world & succeed? How many should vote? I don't know the answer. The whole world is not the faculty lounge at Andover, nor is it Mayberry NC. Most of it is a bad year away from being Somalia. The Somalis in Somalia could use a Pinochet more than an Ayn Rand. Am I wrong? Iraq could use a Mubarak more than a Thomas Paine. Hobbes is right when he calls this the "war of all against all." What use is freedom to a cannibal? What use is it to a person with an IQ of 68? or 88? It took 500+ years of forced(by the Church) eugenic outbreeding & massive rates of execution of violent men for Europe to achieve the very beginnings of a civil society. Freedom can only be earned (perhaps only briefly) by a vast expenditure of Social capital its maintenance is even more difficult. Freedom is not good in & of itself. Washington knew this Paine & Rand didn't.

Conspiracy theories are fun

The latest from Steve Sailor is about the bizarre circumstances of Obama's birth & life and makes fascinating reading. Many conspiracy theorists have made this connection on good ol' youtube. I find any covert conspiracy hard to fathom, but I'm a classic Anglo-American and it is not the way of our race to believe in such things. However outside the Anglosphere such thinking is rampant. I would go so far as to say it seems to be rather ordinary and uncontroversial. The Islamic world reads Mein Kampf & The Protocols of the Elders of Zion widely. Its theories about Jews are seen as common sense. The Anglosphere treats these things as insane & unthinkable. One group is clearly moronic deluded rubes. I used to think I knew.

What is Progressivism, but a series of conspiracies carried out by the Ruling Class to guide the poor unfortunates into the eternal green pastures of the future (whether they want it or not). If you would have told me just 15 years ago that there would be a meeting of trannies in the military I would have called you insane, but I would have been wrong. If I had been told just 7 years earlier that homosexuals would be openly allowed into the US military I would have called you insane too. How did we get here? Clearly not by a conspiracy because that would be insane.

The loneliness of the long distance runner

Being an irredeemable member of the Dark Enlightenment is a lonely course. The sudden realization that one abandons all polite society when one abandons the comfy confines of Con inc. and is now without the last of his illusions. Afraid the day will come when one must explain himself and the looks of horror and disgust when one must tell polite company that he no longer believes voting for a flat tax will do any good at all.

To explain to others that you want to cull the voter rolls to the point that the country ceases to be a democracy (that holy political principle that somehow manages to be despised by every other ideology, but only openly by reactionaries). Conservatives are as bad as any RINO in that they conserve progressivism. They only wish to conserve a form of progressivism that conservatives gave up fighting against only 20 years earlier. Conservatives have no fixed ideas they drift with the current tugged along as Cthulhu swims ever left. I am no conservative then. I do not believe in equality, social justice, the power of government, but I also do not believe that all people yearn to breathe free. I do not believe in a melting pot or any other progressive hokum about being a nation of immigrants. MLK never did anything worthy of admiration and the civil rights movement achieved what it achieved through violent means.

Three hundred and twenty six years of progress and one, if he is honest, knows in his soul that it has been primarily error. Progressives know it, conservatives know it yet only lonely voices dare say it aloud.

No enemies on the (New) Right

I propose a grand alliance against the knuckle dragging Morlocks of the anarcho-tyranny. Since I am a virtual non-entity on the web & in the real world I have decided to call a personal cease fire by not joining in the standard circular firing squad that causes constant splintering & back biting. I refuse to criticize anyone on the Right. No members of the Dark Enlightenment will be attacked even if I disagree with them. I will not make jabs at Ethno-nationalists or Race Realists. Paleo-conservatives and Neo-reactionaries man the same barricades against the Kulturkampf of the Waffen SJW’s. I also admire and respect the more rational and open minded libertarians and the best elements of the PUA and MRA cultures. I declare that I have no enemies on the Right and will henceforth allow the Jacobins the joys of their own auto-da-fe and purges and politely bow out of ours.

The Eloi of Plainlandia vs. the Morlocks of Georgetownistan part 1

The price this society will pay for the general breakdown of sanity in our ruling class will be immense. Unfortunately the New Class of technocratic Morlocks, lead by champions of hyper conformity such as Cass Sunstein, are unaware of their obvious incapacity to make useful decisions. They are mired in cant and jargon they use words as if they were weapons instead of a medium for transmitting ideas and emotions. The technocratic elite have failed again and again, however they continue to comfort themselves with nostrums and shibboleths that extricate them from responsibility for their obvious failures. The New Class lose themselves in theory that comforts them and coddles them keeping them from confronting the true nature of their failures. Their faith in the mystical use of words to shield them from reality and its consequences is the means they use to keep their blinkered gaze tightly focused on the proposed path to a glorious future, where unrestrained by the quaint and pointless customs of the Eloi of fly over country (like the rule of law) they can guide Humanity from triumph to triumph. Unfortunately they are Morlocks and do not have self awareness normal humans do and they do not see that unrestrained pillage by their fellow Morlocks will eradicate the Eloi from existence and destroy themselves by starvation. The New Class Morlocks do not understand they are the parasites feeding off a once healthy body and that their infestation continues to undermine the health of this body.
